Smith family’s performances produce ‘gold record’ status

GOLD FAMILY – Corey Smith Jr., left, took home a gold medal in the latest KHSAA State Track and Field Championships. With Smith’s win in the triple jump, he became the third member of his family to capture a state gold medal. Smith’s father, Corey Smith Sr., right, won the long jump 29 years ago, and still holds the state record.
