Employee raises approved by Fulton Electric System Board; officer elections on hold

The Fulton Electric System board approved two merit raises, as well as a 2.8% cost of living raise for all Fulton Electric System employees, during their regular session Monday evening.

Board members present, Milton Dean, James Butts, Jeff Vaughn and Peggy Lohaus did table two items listed on the night’s agenda, the election of officers as well as an update on Utilitrak, opting to discuss both items when a full board was present. Board member Beth McWhirt was absent

In regard to bad debt write-off, the board approved the writing off uncollected payments for electric service for the year.

A transfer of $530,240.05 from the revolving fund to the operations and maintenance fund was approved, as was the payment of the power bill in the amount of $331,869.57, payroll for $50,000, and the yearly payment for Kentucky League of Cities insurance for all FES vehicles, buildings and equipment, for $63,621.70.

Payments to Fulton Independent Board of Education, School Tax, in the amount of $12,742.40, and to Fulton County Board of Education, $431.06 were approved.

The board adjourned from open public session into closed executive session, to discuss personnel pursuant to Kentucky Revised Statute 61-810, sections, B, C, to deliberate the acquisition of property, industrial prospect, litigation and personnel, with no action reported taken upon a return to public session.

FES Superintendent Luke Craddock and Board Attorney Becky Biehslich were present for the meeting, with FES Business Office Manager Jeff Wade absent.
