The Graves County Sheriff's Department is asking help from the public in the recovery of items stolen July 7, on Carrico Road in Graves County.

Deputy Brendan Weldon responded to the area to take a theft report, when the victim, Charles Slaybough reported multiple rims and tires stolen that were in excess of $3,000 in value. deputies weldon and Seaton then responded to an address on State Route 339 in the Dublin community. On their arrival, Deputies found a truck matching the description of the one reported in the area at the time of the theft and then made contact with 35-year-old James Thomas of Mayfield, who had installed one set of the stolen wheels and tires on his truck.

After being mirandized, Thomas confessed to taking the wheels and tires that were on his truck, however there are still some wheels and tires missing. At the time of arrest, Thomas' vehicle was impounded and he was lodged at the Graves County Jail. James A. Thomas was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking over $500 and under $10,000 and possession of marijuana.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Graves County Sheriff's Department, regarding the possible whereabouts of the wheels still missing.
