The next Fulton “Spay a Stray” event is set for Aug. 27, according to Darcy Linn, a Fulton resident and City Commissioner who also volunteers to assist the city in the coordination of the pick up of animals, the transportation of animals for vetting, spay and neutering.

Linn usually transports the cats for services every two weeks, and is able to take up to 10 per trip.

The services, she said, are provided through the Paris, Tenn. Veterinary Clinic and donations for these services may be made directly to that facility for the Fulton Spay program, under “Layers of Hope Animal Rescue.”

Checks for contributions may be made to Paris Veterinary Clinic or may be mailed to Darcy Linn, 211 Third St., Fulton, Ky. 42041.

With questions, or for more information, contact Linn at 270-556-0659.

A low cost spay and neutering program is available in the area, for cats and dogs, according to Brenda Phillips, of South Fulton, who oversees Humane Way.

The price to neuter cats is $35; to spay cats, $45.

For dogs, the cost is $35 for small dogs and for medium to large dogs, the cost is $45.
