SFMS Lady Devils claim victory over Black Oak Eagles

The South Fulton Middle School Lady Red Devils’ softball team claimed a victory over Black Oak Sept. 9 in sixth innings of play, with winning pitcher Maddie Gray fanning six batters and giving up three walks.

Gray, Aubree Gore and Lydia Carlisle had hot bats for the Lady Devils, each making contact twice, with Anna Gore also recording a hit.

At the end of the first inning, SFMS was down by a run, but when four more runs were tagged onto the Lady Devils’ trips home, Black Oak was stalled at four runs, with final score 7-4, South Fulton.

The Lady Red Devils’ softball team played a short three inning game against a strong Union City Middle School Lady Tornado team Sept. 5, managing a single run in the second inning, and Union City bringing two runners in during first inning action, scoring seven more in the second inning of play, and another seven in the third.

Lady Devil pitcher Maddie Gray struck out one, and walked five in the match, with Union City striking out four South Fulton at-bats and walking two.

Gray was also top hitter for the Lady Devils in the 16-1 loss.
