Jr. Red Devils beat Fulton County
The South Fulton Jr. Red Devils jumped out to a 24-0 lead, and went on to beat Fulton County 32-22 at home last week
Quarterback Brady McFarland gave South Fulton a first quarter lead, when he scored on a 32-yard run, coupled with the two-point conversion by Dallas Whitehead.
In the second quarter, McFarland connected with Micheal Ashley for a 32-yard scoring pass, with Whitehead again converting the two-point conversion.
The Jr. Red Devils took their biggest lead of the game, 24-0, at the 3:18 mark of the quarter, when Whitehead crossed the goal line from five-yards out, and McFarland scored on the two-point play.
The Jr. Pilots finally got on the scoreboard before halftime, when Felix Jackson threw a 40-yard pass to Damien Hill with :11 on the clock.
The touchdown was complimented by a two-point conversion from Triston Kinney, which made the score 24-8 at the break.
In the third quarter, Fulton County came out strong with a 42-yard touchdown pass from Jackson to Kinney, with the two-point conversion making the score 24-16.
The Jr. Pilots then cut the lead to two-points at the 1:42 mark of the period, when Jackson crossed the goal line on a 42-yard run. With the extra point conversion nullified, South Fulton led 24-22.
The Jr. Red Devils closed out the win in the fourth quarter, when Whitehead scored on a 20-yard run, and two point conversion, to make the score 32-22 with 4:43 to play.
Dallas Whitehead was the rushing star of the game, gaining 148-yards on 29 carries, with Brady McFarland adding 57 yards on nine carries.
On the defensive side for South Fulton, Whitehead led the way with six tackles, followed by three each from Jacob Nagel and Nate Little.
