Goodson appointed Fulton County Sheriff
After consulting with leadership in both the Democratic and Republican parties locally, Fulton County Judge/Executive Jim Martin has appointed Derek Goodson to fill the position of Fulton County Sheriff, following the death of Sheriff Robby Woods.
Goodson, who has served as Chief Deputy for the Fulton County Sheriff's Department, will serve until the Kentucky state election in November.
"He is a competent, dedicated law enforcement officer, and one who will do what's right," Judge/Executive Martin said.
For more about the appointment, as well as the impact Woods' passing will have on the November ballot, see the story in the July 11 edition of The Current.
