Pilots drop two of three at Christmas tourney

The Fulton County Pilots broke a five game losing streak, when winning one of three games at the Murray Bank Tip-Off Classic.

The Pilots fell to Mayfield and Calloway County in the opening games, but salvaged a win by beating Livingston County in the final of three appearances.

The Cardinals had three players enter the double digit scoring column in their 30-point pounding of Fulton County.

DeAngelo Brooks led all scorers with 15, followed by Kobe Morris 12 and Jax Rogers with 10, as the Pilots dropped to 3-4 on the year.

Fulton County was hampered on the offensive side with a 17-of-52 shooting performance from the floor.

Dylan Hammond led the Pilots in the game with 12 points and eight rebounds, followed by Caleb Kimble 9, Hayden Murphy 9, Armani Yandal 4, Corey Smith 3, Colton Henderson 2 and Broc Bridges 2.

Fulton County’s 22% shooting from the floor, and 10% shooting from beyond the 3-point arc, was a contributing factor to their 32-point loss to the Lakers.

In the second game of the Murray Bank Tip-Off Classic, the Pilots hit only 14-of-63 shots from the field, and 2-of-19 from 3-point land, as the team losing streak stretched to five straight games.

Calloway County placed four players in double digit scoring, with Cade Butler leading the way with 16 points, followed by 14 from Chandler Steele.

Dylan Hammond led Fulton County for the second straight night, scoring 14 points and pulling down nine rebounds.

Also for the Pilots, Caleb Kimble had 9, Colton Henderson 8, Armani Yandal 6, Hayden Murphy 3 and Jequan Warren 2.

The loss dropped the Pilots to 3-5.

Fulton County salvaged their only win of the Christmas Classic with a 34-point win over Livingston.

The best production of the three game classic for Fulton County came from Hayden Murphy, who led all scorers with 23 points.

Armani Yandal had a big game with 14 points, with Caleb Kimble and Dylan Hammond reaching double digit scoring with 10 points each.

Corey Smith added 7, Jerome Warren 4, Josh Cole 3, Colton Henderson 2, Broc Bridges 2, Jequan Warren 2 and Dakyan Gossett 2.

The win stopped a five game losing streak, with the Pilots now at 4-5 going into the new year.

With the loss, Livingston Central fell to 0-12 on the year.
