The Fulton County Pilots posted a home win, 74-53, against South Fulton last week.

The win over the nearby Tennessee team gave the Pilots a two game winning streak, and evened their overall record at 6-6.

Fulton County jumped out to a 12-4 lead, and never trailed enroute to the 21-point win.

Caleb Kimble and Hayden Murphy combined for 23 and 22 points respectively, as the Pilots offense dominated play in the game.

“This was a win that we needed,” said Fulton County coach Jamie Madding. “We were able to set the pace early on and played hard all night. I was proud of the guys. We played well on offense, and our defense was able to hold them (South Fulton) in check. I told the guys that what we need most now is to have some consistency. This was our second win in a row, so maybe we are headed in the right direction.”

The Pilots took a 45-27 lead at halftime, and maintained the advantage at 59-42 at the end of the third quarter.

A big asset on the night for Fulton County came from shots outside the three-point arc.

The team managed to connect on 10-of-20 shots during the game, with Murphy accounting for five of the treys.

In the scoring column following Kimble’s 23 points and Murphy’s 22, Corey Smith had 10, Jequan Warren 9, Colton Henderson 2, Armani Yandal 2, Jerome Warren 2 and D.K. Gossett 2.

For South Fulton, Brock Brown led the way with 18 points, followed by Bryce McFarland 17, Beau Britt 7, Rider Whitehead 6, Dylan Jackson 3 and Cade Malray 2.
