Empty Bowls

Ken-Tenn Foodbank will sponsor an Empty Bowls fundraiser March 5, 5:30-7 p.m. at the Pontotoc Community center building in Fulton. Tickets are $15 each, which includes a meal of a variety of soups, breads, desserts and drinks, as well as a hand made bowl, created by UTM Art Professor David McBeth and students. Woodmen Mtg. Change

Woodmen Life will meet the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m., with the location for meetings to rotate each month. For information as to each month’s location for the meeting, call 270-472-0350. For each meeting, members pay $5 toward the cost of a meal.


SF Town Hall Meeting

A Town Hall meeting and special called session of the South Fulton City Commission will be held Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. in the commission room of the South Fulton Municipal Complex for public discussion and comments regarding the provision of electric service to citizens of the city by Weakley County Electric or Gibson Electric Membership Corporation. Representation of both electric systems will be in attendance to make a presentation and answer questions. The meeting is open to the public.


Genealogical Society

Fulton Genealogical Society will meet Feb. 20 at 11:30 a.m. at The Keg Restaurant, Lake Street, Fulton. Those who plan to have lunch may eat from the buffet for $9, including tip.


Meeting

Fulton County Conservation Board of Directors will meet Feb. 19 at 8 a.m. in the office at 1811 S 7th. St. Ste. 2A, in Hickman. The public is invited to attend.


American Legion Meeting

Marshall Alexander Post 72 American Legion and Auxiliary will have their February meeting Feb. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Carr Street Community Center. A meal of soup, sandwiches, and drinks will be served. Members do not need to bring any food. The meal will be followed by short meetings for both groups. All members are urged to attend.


Fall Peru Trip

The public is invited to participate in a trip to Peru, Oct. 9-17, with locations to include Casa Aliaga, Cathedral and Church of Santo Domingo, Antonini Museum and Machu Picchu, facilitated by South Fulton High School faculty member and Librarian Brandi Cantrell. School staff and students, as well as the public will be given the opportunity to be a part of the group trip, with the cost to include round trip airfare, hotel accommodations, meals and private tour guides. E-Waste Recycle Event

An E-Waste Recycle collection event will be held March 7 behind Fulton First United Methodist Church between 9 - 10:30 a.m. Old computers, printers, phones and flat screen monitors will be accepted. A $5 fee is required by the recycling company for CRT monitors of the tube type. The event is sponsored by United Methodist Men.


Foodbank Distribution

The Ken-Tenn Foodbank, 212 Carr St., Fulton, will distribute commodities to Fulton County Seniors, CSFP, living in poverty Feb. 21 from 10-11 a.m. Distribution to Fulton County households living in poverty, TEFAP, will be Feb. 28 from 10 – 11 a.m. Poverty is defined as having income of less than $1,316 per month.


FUMC Celebrate Recovery

The First United Methodist Church, 200 Carr St., Fulton, hosts Celebrate Recovery each Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is served, worship and small groups are available for those who attend and child care is provided. For more information, call 270-472-3514.


Seniors Night Out

Smiles on Seniors “Night Out” will be held the second Thursday of each month at El Vallarta, Middle Road, Fulton at 5:30 p.m. All seniors age 55 and older are invited to join other seniors for the monthly Dutch treat group dinner.


Lunch Bunch

Smiles On Seniors, S.O.S. Lunch Bunch meets the first Monday of each month at Pizza Hut meeting room, N. Highland Drive, in Fulton, 11:30 a.m. All seniors age 55 and older are invited to attend.

Senior Book Club

Senior Book Club, sponsored by Smiles On Seniors, S.O.S. and the Fulton Public Library, meets the second Monday of each month at the Park Terrace Recreation Room, 712 Broadway, South Fulton. 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Books are provided to seniors age 55 and older, to read and discuss at the following month’s meeting. Hickman Co. Commodities

The Mission House, in Clinton, distributes CSFP (cheese) commodities monthly to Hickman County residents 60 years and over, who meet the income guidelines and are pre-registered. Pick up dates are Thursday and Friday after the third Tuesday of each month. 


Arts Council

The Hickman County Arts Council meets the fourth Monday of each month at 4 p.m. at The Young Center in Clinton. The public is invited to attend. The website is www.hickmancoarts.com.


Hickman Co. Museum

Hours of operation for the Hickman County Museum, in Clinton, are Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m. 


Hickman Co. Library

Hickman County Library in Clinton is open Tuesdays through Fridays, 2-5 p.m., and Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 


City Council Meeting

The Clinton City Council meets the first Monday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Clinton City Hall. The meeting is open to the public. 


Columbus Council

The Columbus City Council meets the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Columbus City Hall. The meeting is open to the public. 


Mission House

The Mission House, in Clinton is open Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and the first Saturday of each month. 


Genealogical Society

W.O.W. Meeting

The Coffee Shop

The Coffee Shop, in the back of the Willingham Center, Carr Street, Fulton, is open Mondays and Thursdays 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Coffee and pastries are served, along with fellowship, and donations are accepted for local mission projects. The public is invited.


Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous will meet each Monday at 7 p.m. and Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the RRCC building, 400 Lake St., downtown Fulton. The meetings are open to the public.


Family Group

Nar-Anon Family Group will be held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at 115 Second St., Fulton. This is for family and friends of a loved one in addiction, not the addict.


Drug Rehab

Narconon reminds families use of addicting drugs is on the rise to take steps to protect family members from drug use, and help those struggling with drug addiction get them the assistance they need. Celebrate Recovery is held every Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at Parkway Church of Christ, at 1301 Middle Rd., in Fulton; and every Monday from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Clinton.
