Annie Arista House of South Fulton was sent from God on Sept. 23, 1932, and was ushered to The Celestial Shore on Aug. 29, 2020, in her home peacefully as she slept.

Annie Arista was born to the late Cecil L. House, Sr. and Annie B. (Garrett) House-Wright, and the late George H. Wright was her step-father.

This Christian Solider, Annie Arista, was reared in St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Sunday School/Church.

A 5th generation AME, she loved her church and labored relentlessly as pianist and in other capacities. Because she was a faithful servant to God, she earned her angelic wings.

A gentle and kind spirit, Annie Arista attended South Fulton East Rosenwald School, and she graduated from Miles High in Union City. She was a secondary education major at Wilberforce University in Xenia, Ohio, and earned her Master’s Degree plus 30 hours in Counseling from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She taught private music lessons and music in Obion County Schools. She retired from St. Louis Public Schools as an instructor of history and social studies. From her idea of home-town homecoming and school reunions of Milton and Rosenwald Schools, the Ken-Tenn Homecoming and School Reunion Association, Inc. evolved. As a committee member of The Honor Scholarships, Annie Arista served as a trustee and the secretary.
