Genealogical Club revisits ‘50s’
The regular monthly meeting of the Fulton Genealogical Club Aug. 16 was well attended.
The focus was on the “1950’s: Show and Tell”, as several members brought cherished items from their childhood days or young adult years, including toys, books, pictures, albums, games, yearbooks, and misshapen teddy bears; even aprons made of chickenfeed sacks.
One participant modeled her “poodle skirt”.
There was a delightful surprise visit from “the late Patsy Cline”, who entertained the group with her rendition of “She Has You”.
The club meets on the third Thursday of each month at The Keg for a dutch-treat meal and program.
Anyone interested in genealogy, history of the area, or preservation of historic sites is welcomed to attend.
