New faculty announced at Fulton Independent

Fulton Independent Schools recently announced several new faculty members and staff this school year.

Shannon Barnes is the new middle school English teacher and will also teach the high school broadcast/journalism class.

Barnes holds a master’s degree in Literacy and comes to Fulton Independent with over 10 years’ experience in English.

She previously served as Adult Education Coordinator for Fulton County.

Barnes is a published author and has written a novel titled “Cotton’s Daughter.” She is married to Jim Barnes and she has five children.

Ashley Teasley is the new Food Service Director.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Murray State University.

Teasley previously served as Food Service Manager at Graves County High School.

She is married and has a two-year-old daughter.

Amity Grinstead is Fulton Independent Schools’ new K-12 music teacher.

She is a graduate of Murray State University with a degree in Music Education.

Grinstead is from Cadiz, and is married to Timothy Grinstead, and she enjoys cooking and music.

Terra Bryan will serve as the Speech Language Pathologist for grades PS-12.

Bryan holds a Master of Science degree from Murray State University in Speech Pathology. She comes to Fulton Independent with over 16 years of experience.

Bryan enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

The new school nurse is Ashley Kendall.

She is a graduate from West Kentucky Community and Technical College with an emphasis in Licensed Practical Nursing.

Kendall comes to Fulton Independent with an extensive background in nursing and over 13 years’ experience.

She is married to Kyle Kendall and she has two children.
