Applications are still being accepted for families in need, to receive a “Thanksgiving Meal” food box.

The food boxes will be distributed, according to Ken-Tenn Foodbank Director Ginger Bard, as a way to provide families in Fulton and South Fulton with traditional Thanksgiving food items, ready to prepare, following the cancellation of the annual Community Thanksgiving Meal, sponsored by local churches and most recently held at Fulton’s First United Methodist Church.

The meal was cancelled as the result of covid-related restrictions on large gatherings.

Bard said applications may be obtained at the First United Methodist Church office, at the corner of Second and Carr Streets in Fulton, or contacting the church office at 270-472-3514 for an application.

Bard also suggested if local residents are aware of a family in need of a food box, they may also contact the church office to provide the information for the application.

Completed applications may then be placed in the box outside the Ken-Tenn Foodbank location, on Carr Street, across the street from the Willingham Center in Fulton.
