Seniors invited to ‘cruise-in’

by Benita Fuzzell

Senior citizens in the Twin Cities of Fulton and South Fulton may safely “Cruise-In” to a Christmas season event, sponsored by the Smiles On Seniors, S.O.S. non-profit, in coordination with the South Fulton Parks and Recreation Board, on Dec. 12, beginning at 11 a.m.

The “Cruise-In for Christmas” will be staged on the front parking lot area of the South Fulton Municipal Complex, with those planning to drive in, asked to enter the parking lot and follow the prompting by volunteers as to where to park.

Santa and his helpers will be on hand to visit from car to car.

All participants will remain in vehicles at all times, with those assisting with the event safely, using social distancing and masks, bringing refreshments to each vehicle, as games and door prizes will be announced through the use of a public address system, accessible from each vehicle.

Christmas music will also be broadcast, featuring longtime radio personality David Robey.

In case of unfavorable weather, the event will be held the following day, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.

The event is free to seniors who attend, with funding provided by S.O.S. as well as the South Fulton Parks and Recreation Board Director’s annual budget.
