Red Devils calm ‘Golden Tide’ with 62-29 victory

South Fulton’s Red Devils continued to grow their winning record for the 2020-2021 season Nov. 23 against Trenton Peabody Golden Tide.

The Red Devils defeated the Golden Tide 62-29 Nov. 23 for their second win of the season, bringing their record to 2 wins and no losses.

South Fulton outscored Trenton 41-13 at the half and had two players finish the game with double digits.

The Lady Red Devils were not as fortunate with the Lady Golden Tide finishing on top of a 39-77 final score.

The Lady Red Devils and Red Devils will see action again Dec. 3 at Trenton, Tenn. and as they travel to Greenfield on Tuesday, December 8.

Brock Brown scored 15 of his 20 points in the first half, hitting two field goals, three three-point baskets, and was perfect from the free-throw line hitting two free-throws.

Beau Britt helped the Red Devils get on top in the first half hitting five field goals for 10 of his 15-point total.

Brown helped the Red Devils get started in the second half adding his final five points during the third quarter. McFarland added another two points after half time for his game total nine points.

Jalen Cross connected on two field goals for his four points.

Following Brown’s game high 20 points, Britt scored 15 and McFarland added nine. Conner Allen and Rider Whitehead each contributed six points.

Anna Gore started the game out strong scoring five of her game high 11 points in the first quarter, hitting a three-point basket and two free-throws.

Cashaya McClerkin added four of her six points before half time in the second half. McClerkin hit a field goal and two free-throws.

Abbi McFarland contributed eight of her 10 points in the second half hitting a field goal and two free-throws in the third quarter and hitting an additional two field goals in the fourth quarter.

Anna Gore led the Lady Red Devils with 11 points. Abbi McFarland was right behind Gore with 10 points while Kailey Mayo and Cashaya McClerkin each added 6 points.

Sophia Hodges scored all eight of her points in the first half of the SFHS match against Westview Nov. 24. Hodges hit two free-throws in the first quarter and her final six during the second quarter hitting two field goals and hitting two more free-throws.
Kailey Mayo connected on a field goal and a three-point basket, tacking on five of her game high nine points in the second quarter.
Abbi McFarland added five more points during the third quarter.

Anna Gore contributed five of her seven points during the fourth quarter, four of which came from her two field goals plus an additional free throw.

Kailey Mayo led the Lady Red Devils with nine points followed by Sophia Hodges with eight points, along with Anna Gore and Abbi McFarland with seven points.

Westview 59

The nightcap was a nail bitter from tip off to the final horn.

South Fulton trailed 12-16 after one quarter, but took the led 29-27 right before half time. Westview was eight points up at the end of the third quarter 36-44. South Fulton couldn’t find their way back on top with a final score of 55-59.

South Fulton was defeated by Westview for their first loss of the season, making their record two wins and one loss.
Brock Brown was the leading scorer for the third straight game with a total of 16 points.

Brown hit three field goals to get the game rolling in the first quarter.

Rider Whitehead hit two three pointers, a field goal, followed by a free throw for nine of his total 13 points.

Whitehead and McFarland was responsible for the seven points in the third quarter. Whitehead added four points and McFarland hit a three for the quarter’s final total.

Britt added seven points during the final quarter. Britt hit a three and two field goals.

Behind Brown’s 16 points, Britt scored 14 and Whitehead score 13.
