AREA OBITUARIES -- ROBERT GARRIGAN

Robert Garrigan, a resident of Jordan community, died Dec. 9 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, in Union City, Tenn. He was 78.
Private funeral services were held Dec. 11 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Carl Gregorich officiating. Burial followed at 11:30 am at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were Rob Garrigan, Josh Garrigan, Justin Lannom, Glen Pavey, Van Ray and Judd Malone. Honorary pallbearers will be Hardees’ Coffee Club. White-Ranson Funeral Home, of Union City, was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nell (Van) Ray, of Union City; son and daughter-in-law, Rob (Melissa) Garrigan, of Hickman; three grandchildren, Justin Ray, of Atlanta, Anna Reid Garrigan, of Hickman, and Josh Garrigan, of Hickman; and a sister, DeeAnna Garrigan, of Hickman.
Born April 5, 1942, in Union City to the late Parnell and Anna (DeBow) Garrigan.
On July 18, 1964, he married the former Charlotte Mangold. She preceded him in death on Dec. 5, 2020.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a retired farmer. He was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, but attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He also was a member of the Soil Conservation Board, in Fulton, Hardees’ Coffee Club and the Rook Club.
