COUNTY MAYOR EXTENDS OBION COUNTY MASK MANDATE

According to information received by The Current today, Obion County Mayor Benny McGuire has extended his previously issued mask mandate until Feb. 28, 2021, "due to increased covid cases in Obion County and Northwest Tennessee."

"I am encouraging everyone to respect each other by wearing a mask, social distancing and limiting group gatherings," Mayor McGuire said, in the statement dated Dec. 31, 2020.

TEARING DOWN WALLS TO BUILD UP COMMUNITY – On location at Fulton’s Fourth Street house construction April 9, built on April 8, using the SIP construction method, were Brenda Weaver, Community Ventures, Eric Couts, Master SIP Builder, Fulton City Manager Mike Gunn, FHCEDP President Mark Welch and Fulton County Judge/ Executive Jim Martin. Welch noted “a house is where jobs sleep” and applauded the receipt of grant funding through USDA, the Rural Partners Network and Kentucky Housing, to create more housing opportunities in the local area. Gunn expressed appreciation to Fulton Code Enforcement Officer Nathan Lamb, for his efforts in demolishing 83 dilapidated houses over the past few years, to make way for new construction.
