Arrest, assault charges result from Jan. 2 stabbing in Hickman

An early morning stabbing in Hickman the second day into the new year, resulted in an arrest and a charge of Assault, 1st degree.

Hickman Police Officers were called to a residence in Hickman, Jan. 2, at 3:05 a.m., and upon arrival, they found the caller, who had an apparent wound to his head and was bleeding profusely.

According to the Police Report provided to The Current, from Hickman City Police Department, the victim, Paul Foster, had been stabbed with a knife, above his eye while he was in bed sleeping.

According to officers, Foster would not give a reason as to why he had been stabbed.

Kristie Chapman, 46, was located in the home when the officer arrived, and she was covered in blood, according to the report. The report also states sh admitted to stabbing the victim.

Chapman stated she stabbed Foster because he told her he had raped his daughter earlier in the day.

Chapman was detained until the officer could further investigate the incident.

A white-handled steak knife covered in blood was discovered in the back bedroom of the residence, a blood-soaked bed sheet and blood splatter on the wall.

Chapman was placed under arrest and charged with Assault, 1st Degree.
