FIS new staff introduced

Fulton Independent Schools would like to announce several additional faculty members and staff this school year.

Carolyn Byrd will serve as our new Gifted Talented Teacher for grades first – fifth. Byrd was previously a math teacher at Hickman County and has over 19 years teaching experience. She is married to Darren Byrd and has two children.

Sheila Tiberi is one of Fulton Independent’s new fourth grade teachers and is teaching language arts and social studies.

She holds a master’s degree from the University of the Cumberlands in reading and writing. She comes to us with over 20 years’ experience. Tiberi enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and reading. She has two adult children.

Erin Henderson is also a fourth grade teacher and is teaching math and science and serving as the assistant cheer coach at the high school. She is a graduate of Murray State University in elementary education. Henderson enjoys many outdoor activities such as running, kayaking, and gardening.

Charlotte Goddard is a third grade math and science teacher. She holds a master’s degree from Murray State University with an endorsement in reading and writing. Goddard comes to Carr Elementary with over 13 years teaching experience. She is married to Billy Goddard and has two children.

Nakia McClure Brown is a first grade teacher coming to us from Wingo Elementary. She holds a master’s degree from Murray State University and a Rank 1 in elementary education from the same university. She also has endorsements in environmental education and gifted and talented education. Brown has over 18 years’ experience in education. She is married to Scott Brown and has two children.

Morgan Wade, a Fulton native and graduate of FHS class of 2013, joins the teaching staff as the new Spanish teacher in grades K-12. She holds a degree in communications and Spanish from the University of Tennessee Martin. Wade enjoys painting, reading, and traveling.

Don Bellah is joining Carr Elementary as a special education teacher. He holds a master’s degree from Tarleton State University and is currently working on his PhD in counseling at the University of the Cumberlands.

Bellah has two children and enjoys many outdoor activities.
