COUNTY CHAMPS – The South Fulton Middle School Red Devils defeated the Black Oak Eagles Monday night for the Obion County Middle School Basketball Championship at South Fulton. The Red Devils added 10 points in the first quarter to gain the lead and extended their lead in the second quarter, tacking on six points to bring the score to 16-11. South Fulton came out after half time and found a way to score nine more points, finishing on top with 36 points to the Eagles 26 points. The Red Devils are 16-1 and scheduled to play in the sectional tournament on Saturday, location and time to be determined.

The South Fulton Red Devils defeated the Black Oak Lady Eagles in the play in game of the Obion County Middle School Basketball Tournament.

The Lady Red Devils jumped ahead in the first quarter scoring six points to the Lady Eagles two points. The Lady Red Devils added 12 points in the second quarter to create a 10 point lead going into half time. After half time the Lady Red Devils gained a 13 point lead making the score 31-18. The Lady Red Devils finished on top of the Lady Eagles with a 14 point night cap, 38-24.

Defeating the Lady Eagles advanced the Lady Red Devils to the next round of the tournament where they would take on the number one seed on Saturday, January 23.

The Lady Red Devils fell just five points short on Saturday against the Ridgemont Lady Mustangs. After a full quarter of action, the Lady Red Devils were three points behind the Lady Mustangs, 6-9. The Red Devils fought hard during the second quarter while the Lady Mustangs managed to pull head of the Lady Red Devils. The Lady Red Devils came out after halftime attempting to gain the lead putting up seven points to make the score 25-30. With a nail biter fourth quarter the Lady Red Devils finished the game with 36 points to the Lady Mustangs 41 points.

The Red Devils continued their win streak on Saturday against the Ridgemont Mustangs in the first round of the Obion County Tournament.

The Red Devils jumped on top immediately scoring six points while holding the Mustangs to only two points. The Red Devils added 11 points in the second quarter to make the score 17 to 13 before half time. During the third quarter the Red Devils maintained a lead scoring seven more points.

The Red Devils came out victorious 30-20.
