Procedures in place for COVID vaccine locally

The Fulton County Health Department is in the process of administering the Moderna vaccine to combat Covid 19. This vaccine is being given under the direction of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Governor’s Office.
The vaccine is being administered in phases, the first phase la, took place in early January. It was given to designated first responders such as nurses, paramedics, firemen, health care workers, those who are deemed at risk because of contact with individuals experiencing COVID 19 symptoms. There were 100 doses received for those deemed to be at risk in Fulton County.
The Moderna vaccine, which is the vaccine administered in Fulton County, is given in two doses. The doses are given at least 28 days apart.
The second dose for first responders should arrive the first week in February.
All Fulton County residents who wish to receive the vaccine are asked to call the Fulton County Health Department at 270-472-1982 or 270-236-2825 and leave a message.
The Health Department requires the following information: name; age; telephone number; and if couples need to come together, make the department aware and it will be noted.
When the vaccine arrives, the Health Department will make contact to provide a time and place to receive the vaccine.
