Clinton man arrested following accident
Shermone S. Knox, 33 of Clinton was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia following a two vehicle collision at US 45 and KY 408 at approximately 9:53 a.m. today.
According to a press release issued by the Kentucky State Police, preliminary investigations show Ahmed Al-Aboudy, 28 of Dearborn, Mich. was traveling north on US 45 in the right lane, operating a 2007 Volvo semi-tractor trailer loaded with processed chickens.
Knox was was traveling north on US 45 in the right lane in a 2008 Saturn.
Al-Aboudy failed to stop in time and rear ended Knox, who then went into the median turn lane. Al-Aboudy traveled through the intersection and overturned off the right side of the roadway, spilling the contents of his load onto the ground.
Knox was transported by EMS to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
Knox was lodged in the Graves County Jail following his arrest.
Trooper Paul Berhow was assisted on the scene by Graves County Sheriff's Office, Mayfield EMS, Viola Fire Department, Graves County Health Department and Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
