Jr. Pilots beat Fulton City

by Charles Choate

The Fulton County Pilots took a weather shortened 36-0 win over Fulton City last week, in a game played in an alternative setting.

Due to the Jr. Bulldogs only dressing nine players, the game was played as an 8-on-8 contest at Sanger Field in Hickman.

The game began with the Jr. Pilots J’Shon Jones dashing into the endzone on a 46-yard run, coupled with a Max Gibbs two-point conversion, making the score 8-0.

Still in the first quarter, Rez Jackson scored from seven-yards out, and thanks to a Ty Isbell two-point conversion, the lead grew to 16-0.

In the second quarter, it was J’Shon Jones scoring his second touchdown on a 55-yard run. The two-point conversion by Tristan Kinney made the score 24-0.

With 3:14 to play before halftime, Max Gibbs scored on a 56-yard run for a 30-0 advantage.

The final points of the night came with J’Shon Jones throwing a 30-yard touchdown pass to Ian Goodman.

Following the halftime intermission, lightning caused a mandatory 30-minute delay, with the game eventually canceled.

Jones led the Jr. Pilots with 96-yards rushing in the game, followed by Max Gibbs with 73-yards.

Fulton City was led by Jacob Madding with 10-yards rushing.

The Jr. Pilots will play at home Sept. 6 when they face Calloway County.
