History making women; Malone’s advancement to bank president first for female officer

Susan Malone of Hickman was named the first female President of The Citizens Bank, with locations in Hickman, Fulton and Union City, Tenn., May 14, 2019.
She began her career at The Citizens Bank in May 1984, in bookkeeping. She was later secretary to former bank president David Holland, served as a Loan Officer and Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer.
She worked under Holland's leadership, as well as immediate past bank president Chris Rodgers, was promoted in 1994 to Vice President, Executive Vice President in 2000, and served in her most recent capacity as Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer since 2003.
Malone is a 1984 graduate of Fulton County High School and a 1998 graduate of the Kentucky School of Banking.
She is married to Scott Malone, and they have two sons, Clint Malone and his wife, Carlie of Jackson, Tenn., and Judd Malone of Hickman; and one grandson, Weston Malone.
She is the daughter of Ronald and Swan Bowers of Hickman.
