Program on Adoption Education April 26

An education program on adoption will be presented by The Hope Center on April 26, at 6:30 p.m., at West Hickman Baptist Church’s We Believe Center.

Adoption 101 is a training opportunity is for those interested in learning more about adoption and learn how to discuss adoption as an option for expectant parents who are not sure they are able to parent a child.

The guest speaker will be Julie Erwin of Adoption Assistance in Louisville.

Local Pastors are encouraged to attend or a delegate to attend from the church to learn how they can help.

The training is for education about adoption, not advocating for adoption.

Understanding adoption will help pregnancy resource staff/volunteers and community members provide a balanced, accurate picture of adoption as an option.

Those who attend will learn more about adoption law and practice in Kentucky, birth parent rights and responsibilities, special issues in counseling teens, social and cultural influences, and nondirective counseling techniques.
