FCHS Track, Field athletes on to State

Fulton County High School Track and Field athletes Josh Cole, Tyler Love, Corey Smith II, Wesley Brown, Broc Bridges, Michael Burns, DK Gossett, and Javona Davis have earned a spot to compete at the State Meet to be held June 10 - 12 at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex, in Lexington.

Placing at Regionals and earning the trip to State competition was:

Josh Cole, third place in 200 meter and third place in Long Jump, qualifying for State in both events.

Tyler Love was Regional runner-up in Discus and Shot Put, qualifying for both events at State.

Corey Smith II earned Regional Champion in Long Jump and Triple June, with a new Regional record in the Triple Jump. He was also Regional runner-up in the 100 meter and 200 meter and qualified for State in all four events.

Earning Regional Champion and qualifying for State in the 400 meter Dash was Wesley Brown.

Broc Bridges and Michael Burns were the Unified Regional Champions in the 2x50 and 2x200 categories and qualified for State.

DK Gossett was Regional runner up in the High Jump and qualified for State competition.

Javona Davis was Regional runner-up in the 100 meters, third in the Long Jump, and third in the 200 meter Dash. Davis qualified for State competition in the 100 meters and Long Jump fields.

Other Fulton County Track and Field athletes participating at the Regional level were Wesley Brown, Jay Sipes, Chade Everett, and Harrison, with a fifth place finish in the Boys 4x800.

JaMesha Brown earned a third place finish in shot put and eighth place in 100 meters.

Carson Oldaker had a personal record in shot put.
