PURCHASE PARKWAY SOUTHBOUND WORK ZONE RESTRICTIONS START TUES., AUG. 3
Purchase Parkway Southbound Lane Restriction for RR Overpass Deck Work in Fulton County starts Tuesday, Aug 3
Deck maintenance and overlay project to take about 45 days
PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 2, 2021) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a southbound work zone lane restriction on the Purchase Parkway in Fulton County starting Tuesday, August 3, 2021.
This work zone for southbound Purchase Parkway traffic at mile point 1.8 is to allow full-depth deck repairs and a latex overlay on the Canadian National Railroad Overpass. This is along the Purchase Parkway between the KY 307 Fulton Exit 2 Interchange and the U.S. 51 Fulton Exit 2 Interchange.
Southbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 2 mile marker. All traffic will initially move to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone. About halfway through the project there will be a work zone traffic shift.
Intech Contracting is the prime contractor on this $1.2 million bridge maintenance project. The target completion date is September 18, 2021.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and bridge maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
