AREA OBITUARIES -- MARVIN GLEN GILBERT

Marvin Glen Gilbert, 76, of Fulton, Ky., passed away October 9, 2021 at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

He was born on November 3, 1944 in Graves County, Ky., to the late Bruce and Hazel McCalister Gilbert.

Marvin was a member of the Water Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Wingo High School in 1962 and worked for Holt Construction and then went into farming. Marvin also owned and operated Gilbert Construction. He lived all of life in this area.

He is survived by his wife, Nina Kay Crittenden Gilbert, whom he married June 12, 1965; a daughter, Deanna (Ron) Peevyhouse of Union City, Tenn.; a son Stacey Gilbert of Water Valley, Ky.; a grandson, Zachary Gilbert of Mayfield, Ky.; and a sister, Suzanne Adams of Water Valley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin sons, Richard Iven Gilbert and Ward Allen Gilbert.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 13, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Water Valley Cemetery. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. Oct. 12.
