Red Devils win over Perry Co.
The Red Devils traveled to Perry County, where they came out victorious with a 22-14 final score.
After an entire quarter of action, both teams were knotted up with no points on the scoreboard.
The Red Devils struck first in the second quarter with a three yard run from Dallas Whitehead putting the first six points of the game on the board.
The Red Devils’ attempt for the two point conversion was no good.
Perry County answered back with a one yard run for their first six points of the contest followed by a successful two point conversion play to put them on top, 8-6 going into halftime.
The third quarter was yet another scoreless quarter for both teams.
In the fourth quarter the Red Devils’ Bryant Kimmons received a 20 yard pass from Brady McFarland to tack another six points on to the Red Devils’ side of the scoreboard.
Dallas Whitehead ran the ball into the endzone completing the two point conversion for the Red Devils.
Perry County ran the ball for a 96 yard touchdown and failed to pick up the extra two points to tie the ball game with just under three minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Dallas Whitehead ran the ball 10 yards to put the Red Devils on top, following Whitehead’s touchdown run he completed the two point conversion making the final score 22-14.
Dallas Whitehead earned two of the Red Devils’ touch downs, running the ball 32 times for a total of 197 yards. Dane Cirkles ran the ball five times, totaling 29 yards. Mason Gaskins had 14 yards from three carries.
Brady McFarland threw the ball 15 times completing seven passes.
Five of the completed passes went to Conner Allen for 85 yards. Dane Cirkles received one pass for 16 yards and Bryant Kimmons caught one ball for his 20 yard touchdown.
Brady McFarland passed the ball for a total of 121 yards.
The Red Devils will see action again on Oct. 22, in McEwen, Tenn.
