Richard Allen Hartz, age 84, of Fulton, died Oct. 18 at the Clinton-Hickman County I.C.F.

He was born on Nov. 24, 1936 in Reading, Penns., to the late Rufus Hartz and Grace V. Biffell Hartz Smith.

He was a member of the Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a retired United States Navy Veteran.

He was a former Fulton Fire Chief and an Arson Investigator for the State of Kentucky. Richard moved to this area in 1974.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Rosaria Paolillo Hartz, whom he married May 16, 1960 in Pompei, Italy; a son, Richard Hartz, Jr. (Jim Brymer) of St. Augustine, Fla.; two daughters, Marina Hartz Greer (Kent), of South Fulton, and Cindy Hartz Glisson (David), of South Fulton; five grandchildren, Drew Greer, of Oakland, Tenn., Kendall Greer of South Fulton, Kaitlyn Greer of Owensboro, Crockett Glisson, of Farmington, Mo., and Emma Glisson of South Fulton; and two great-grandchildren, Baylor and Aubrey Greer, of South Fulton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 22 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, in Fulton, with burial to follow in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 - 8 p.m. Oct. 21
