FULTON COUNTY TRANSIT REQUESTS ADVANCE NOTIFICATION FOR RIDERS' MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS

For immediate release
Area residents needing to utilize Fulton County Transit Authority to transport them to and from medical appointments are urged to plan ahead.
“If you have a medical appointment, we encourage you to call FCTA at least 24 hours in advance,” said Executive Director Kenney Etherton. “If you call the day of, we can’t guarantee we can get you there on time.”
Two issues are keeping FCTA from being as efficient as possible.
“These inconveniences are due to our client load picking up and the lack of drivers. This is a difficult time for us as well as our clients,” Etherton said. “This is just a fact of life we are living in due to the pandemic. We are doing everything we can do to meet clients’ needs, but we are experiencing some wait times beyond our control right now.”
Operating on a schedule of feeling continuously behind is not conducive to the way FCTA likes to work.
“Our goal is to be as efficient as possible, but we need our ridership’s cooperation and understanding,” Etherton said. “If you have an appointment you must make on time, I encourage you to schedule a trip with us 24 to 48 hours in advance.”
To schedule a trip in advance, please call 270-472-0662 and press 2 after the prompt begins. This will take you directly to a FCTA Scheduler.
