TRUNK OR TREAT, TWIN CITIES PARKS BOARD' FIRST JOINT EFFORT
Kenney Etherton, chairman of the Fulton Park Board, following the Oct. 23 combined effort of his board and the South Fulton Parks and Recreation Board, said "THANK YOU ALL for being a part of our first very successful Halloween event. Without each member of both board members taking part in this event it would not have been such a huge successful for our community. I can not tell you all how many complements and thanks I got over the evening walking between the two parks. This was a true community event! Again, many thanks and I look forward to future events!"
Likewise, Felicia Lightner, who chairs South Fulton's Parks and Recreation Board, had nothing but praise for those who assisted in growing and expanding a longstanding tradition for South Fulton's Unity Park each year during the Halloween season.
Games, a hayride and trunk or treat stations were ready and waiting for children to gather candy and prizes, with free hot dogs and drinks provided for all in attendance. An inflatable play area and story walk, as well as a costume contest were enjoyed by approximately 800 in attendance.
" From both park boards to the city managers to city workers and community volunteers, the Twin Cities absolutely shined this weekend! It was a testament to what working together as one allows us to accomplish. A good time was had by young and old with a phenomenal turnout. Thanks to everyone for your participation. I could not be prouder fo be a citizen of the Twin Cities of Fulton and South Fulton," Lightner said.
