Veterans' drive-through meal pick up, parade, musical programs planned by area schools

South Fulton Elementary School will host a Veterans Day program for all area Veterans, to include musical tributes and recognition, Nov. 11 beginning at 9 a.m. in the SFES gymnasium.
Fulton County School System has scheduled their annual Veterans Day program for Nov. 11 at 9:30 a.m. at Fulton County High School.
Both the South Fulton Elementary program and the Fulton County School program are open to the public and area Veterans are invited.
In an effort to continue to honor area Veterans with a meal on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, Fulton Independent School District will coordinate and sponsor a “drive-through” pickup on the campus of Fulton High School, to allow service men and women, as well as their spouses, widows and widowers, the convenience and safety of meal pickup.
Beginning at 10:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Nov. 11, Fulton High School seniors will provide curb-side service, for door-to-vehicle delivery of a prepackaged meal to include barbecue and sides, with drivers able to receive the delivery inside their vehicle, at the high school’s rear driveway.
Drivers may drive past the school’s front entry, follow the drive around to the rear of the building, and seniors, who will be performing required community service hours for graduation, will bring meals to the vehicles.
All area Veterans are also invited to participate in a Fulton Police Department escorted Veterans Day Parade on Nov. 11, with those interested in driving their vehicle in the parade asked to meet at the South Fulton Industrial Park, across from the South Fulton High School, at 10:15 a.m.
The parade route will include passing by Carr Elementary School on West State Line and proceed on to Fulton High School, where pickup meals may be received.
Participation in the parade is voluntary, and not required to receive the drive-through meals.
