AREA OBITUARIES – Diana K. Cathey

Diana K. Swearingen Cathey, age 78, of South Fulton, died Nov. 7 at the Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, Tenn.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1942 in Martin, Tenn. to the late Russell and Mary Alice Campbell Swearingen.

She was of the Church of Christ faith, an avid Nascar fan and loved to make quilts. She lived most of her life in this area.

She is survived by a son, William “Billy” Cathey, of South Fulton; two daughters; Teresa (Earl) Mulcahy and Diana Cathey Cook, both of South Fulton; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Morris Cathey, of South Fulton; and a brother, Don Swearingen, of Crutchfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Herbert “Herb” Cathey; a son, Charles D. Cathey; and a brother, Russell Swearingen, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon Nov. 10 until time to leave for the cemetery.
