AREA OBITUARIES – JIM HODGES

James Seay ”Jim” Hodges, of Columbia, Tenn. and formerly of South Fulton, passed away Nov. 20 at The Bridge at Columbia.

He was born on Jan. 6, 1931 in Fulton to the late Sam Hodges and Ruth P. Hodges Thompson.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired builder.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Fulton, where he served as an ordained deacon. He resided in South Fulton, most of his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Hodges (Mike) Fenwick, of Columbia, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Courtney Fenwick (Alexander) Goodman, of Columbia, and James Michael (Jennifer) Fenwick, of Gunnison, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, William, Clayton and Lillian Goodman, all of Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlene R. Hodges of 62 years; a sister, Nell Hodges; and half-brother, Frank Hodges.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Nov. 23 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Obion County Memorial Gardens with military honors held at graveside. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. Nov. 23 until the hour of service.
