AREA OBITUARIES -- PAULA L. SOWELL

Paula L. Sowell, a resident of South Fulton, passed away Monday afternoon, Dec. 13, 2021 at Diversicare of Martin, Tenn. She was 70.

There will be no visitation or service at this time at Hornbeak Funeral Home of Fulton. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Survivors include her son, Adam Sowell of South Fulton, three grandchildren, Ryan, Hollie and Justin Sowell of South Fulton, a great-granddaughter, Kinsley Abens of South Fulton, and a brother William David Long of Mayfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the late William Earl Long and Mary Jackie Matthews Long.

She was born Jan. 18, 1951 in Union City, Tenn., and lived in Memphis and this area all of her life.

She was secretary to the Mayor of Memphis, Tenn. at Memphis City Hall, and was Manager of the Shelby County Court Clerks office. She also worked at Turner Kirkland CBK-LTD in shipping.

She was of the Baptist faith.
