GIBSON ELECTRIC POWER OUTAGE UPDATES, RESTORATIONS AS OF TUES. NIGHT, DEC. 14
As of 8:45 PM, Gibson Electric Membership Corporation has 24 outage locations and 450 member-owners’ homes and businesses without power. The remaining outages are concentrated in the Samburg and Kenton areas in Tennessee and primarily east of Fulton and near Crutchfield in Kentucky.
“Our crews along with those from Pickwick Electric, Milan Public Utilities, Jackson Energy Authority, Forked Deer Electric Cooperative, Chickasaw Electric Cooperative, Southwest Tennessee Electric, Dyersburg Electric and Service Electric have pushed to get service restored to everyone,” said Dan Rodamaker, President and CEO of Gibson EMC and Gibson Connect. “We always want to work safely, but we also know how critical it is to restore our members’ service as quickly as possible; and because of their hard work, we have made good progress,” he said. “I also want to recognize and thank all of the other members of our employee family who are working behind the scenes to coordinate the work and assist our members.”
Gibson EMC asks members to continue to keep safety at top of mind. Stay far away from downed power lines; always assume they are energized and extremely dangerous. Also, use extreme caution with generators. Have a licensed electrician to install a generator and diligently follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your safety and for the safety of those working to restore your power.
Gibson EMC is a local, not-for-profit, member-owned and member-controlled electric cooperative serving more than 39,000 homes and businesses in eight west Tennessee counties (Crockett, Dyer, Gibson, Haywood, Lake, Madison, Obion and Weakley) and four west Kentucky counties (Carlisle, Fulton, Graves and Hickman). Gibson Connect is a wholly-owned, not-for-profit subsidiary of Gibson EMC, working to provide high-speed, fiber-based broadband service access to all of the cooperative’s eligible members
