SEN. HOWELL ADDRESS WAYS TO HELP IN SENATE'S FIRST DISTRICT, IN WESTERN KENTUCKY
SENATOR HOWELL SHARES WAYS TO HELP
NEIGHBORS IN SENATE DISTRICT 1
FRANKFORT, KY (December 16, 2021) – Unified efforts are underway to assist in Western
Kentucky’s recovery in the aftermath of the severe weather that swept across the Commonwealth
on December 11.
"As we continue to forge ahead after the tragedy inflicted on our area by the recent tornado, so
many issues present themselves that it feels overwhelming on so many levels,” Senator Jason
Howell said. “My most sincere gratitude to all those willing to help in our time of need as the
outpouring of support demonstrates the good in people that is sometimes lost in our ordinary
lives.”
The logistics of coordinating help of this magnitude is paramount to effectively providing for
people’s immediate needs, Howell offered. Local Emergency Management System officials
have been working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and everyone in between.
The devastation experienced in Kentucky taxes even their combined efforts, so volunteers are
crucial at this time.
“My hope is to provide additional information to streamline peoples' efforts assisting those in
need,” Howell continued. “Western Kentucky citizens are all so very grateful to everyone who
has offered to help during these trying times.”
