SFHS Red Devils claim OT victory against FHS; Lady Devils beat Lions

On Jan. 25, the Lady Red Devils traveled across the Tennessee-Kentucky state line where they took on the Fulton City Bulldogs. The Lady Red Devils opened the contest strong putting up 13 points in the first quarter followed by 22 in the second quarter while holding the Lady Bulldogs to just four points in the first quarter and seven in the second. The score going into halftime was the Lady Red Devils 35, Lady Bulldogs 11.

In the second half, the Lady Red Devils added 16 points in each quarter for a total of 32 points. The Lady Bulldogs put up 10 points in the first quarter and another eight points in the fourth quarter. The Lady Red Devils finished on top of the Lady Bulldogs with a final score of 67-29.

The Lady Red Devils had two leading scorers for the night, putting up 14 points a piece. Anna Gore had two field goals, three shots from behind the arc and one shot from the free throw line.

Maddie Gray hit four field goals and two-three point baskets for her 14 points.

Sophia Hodges had five field goals and was perfect from the free throw line for a game total of 13 points.

Aubree Gore and Katie Barclay each had nine points. Gore’s nine points came from three field goals and one three point basket. Barclay hit three shots from behind the arc for her nine points.

Abbi McFarland had seven points coming from two field goals and one three point shot.

Jenefer Wallace hit one free throw for her one point.

The South Fulton Red Devils took on the Fulton City Bulldogs on Tuesday, January 25. The contest finished regular play all tied up at 56, sending it into a nail biting overtime.

The Red Devils started the game falling behind the Bulldogs scoring only eight points while the Bulldogs scored 12. The Red Devils cut the Bulldogs’ lead down to two points in the second quarter putting up 19 points to bring the halftime score to 29-27.

After halftime the Red Devils cut the lead again, putting the score just one point away, with a score of 39-38. In the fourth quarter the Red Devils managed to tie the score up sending the game into overtime. During overtime the Red Devils put 21 points up while holding the Bulldogs to just 12 points.

Brady McFarland put up 33 points for the Red Devils making him the leading scorer for the contest. McFarland added 15 points during overtime. He had a total of 10 field goals, two three point baskets, and 70 percent from the free-throw line hitting seven.

Conner Allen contributed 19 points from two field goals, four three point shots, and three free throws.

Dylan Ruddle put up 15 points from three field goals and nine shots from the freethrow line.

Dane Cirkles put up eight points with two field goals and four freethrow baskets.

Riley Alexander and Logan Cromika put one point a piece.

SFHS - Dresden

The Lady Red Devils hosted the Dresden Lady Lions on Fri., Jan. 28, in the Devil’s Den. The Lady Red Devils finished the game on top of the Lady Lions with a final score of 57-46.

The Red Devils fell short to the Dresden Lions in the Devil’s Den, on Friday night’s match up. The Red Devils finished on the bottom of a 62-46 final score.
