NEW SOUTH FULTON FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT CHIEF HIRED

Kenneth Walker, left, has been hired for a fulltime position as the new South Fulton Fire Department Assistant Chief. His first day on the job was March 7. Walker is no stranger to the department, having previously served as a volunteer firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain and Training Officer of the SFFD. He is also the Medical Supervisor and Training Officer. Walker was welcomed to his new role, by Fire Chief Dennis Pittman, City Manager Joyce Gray and Mayor David Lamb last week. Walker and his wife reside in South Fulton with their two children. "We are excited to have Kenneth on staff," Gray said. Chief Pittman echoed Gray's sentiment, adding having Walker within the ranks of the department will provide much needed to help to him. "I believe he will do a great job for us," Mayor Lamb said.
