Local students shine in SkillsUSA Competition
Over 50 students from regional technical centers participated in the SkillsUSA Region 1 Leadership Competition at the Paducah Innovation Hub on March 4.
Four Rivers Career Academy students Myles Amberg and Carson Parker won the Fab team welding competition March 4, at the Paducah Innovation Hub.
They were down a man and competed against a three-man team and won the region, qualifying for state.
Drake Manus was able to compete in the Leadership portion the SkillsUSA competition and received second place in job interviews, also qualifying for state.
The Leadership category in SkillsUSA competitions focuses on events that demonstrate employability, leadership, resumé building, and other skills that show a student is ready to join the workforce.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.
Fulton County’s Drake Manus received second place in Job Interview.
