Falcons soar past Red Devils

It did not take long last Friday night for the Lake County Falcons to show their offensive strength against South Fulton.

On the first play of the game, the Falcons Dezmon Johnson crossed the endzone on a 46-yard run, setting the tone for a 67-22 win over the Red Devils.

South Fulton was hoping to bring momentum into the game, following their season’s first win against Dresden, but the quick strikes of the Falcons dimmed the opportunity.

Lake County followed the opening score with 32 additional points in the quarter, as the Red Devils countered with a two-yard touchdown run from Greg Davis.

In the second quarter, the Falcons stretched the halftime lead to 61-6 with a six-yard touchdown run from Johnson, along with touchdown passes from Tanner Snyder to Campbell Puckett from 21-yards out, and a 20-yard strike to Izaiah Matheny.

In the second half, South Fulton got a four-yard score from Davis in the third quarter, and a five-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Davis finished the night for South Fulton with 114 yards of rushing on 26 carries, while Johnson led all rushers for the Falcons with 174-yards on only five carries.

Thru the air, South Fulton managed 92-yards of offense from Bryce McFarland’s four completed passes.

The Red Devils dropped to (1-6) on the season, and will play host to Humboldt, Tenn. this Friday night.
