AREA OBITUARIES -- BILLY JOE McCLANAHAN

Mr. Billy Joe "Highpockets" McClanahan, Sr, age 81, of South Fulton, Tenn. passed away Friday, March 18, 2022

at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 5, 1940 in Weakley County, Tenn. to the late Walter Lee McClanahan and Bessie

Harrington McClanahan.

Billy was a member of Fulton Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and was a member of the choir. He worked at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 39 years in the Final Finish Department.

He is survived by his wife, Pansy Ellis McClanahan, to whom he was married December 22, 1960, a daughter Deborah Ann McKinney (Kevin) of Fulton, Ky., a son Billy Joe McClanahan, Jr (Cynthia) of Buckley, Washington, seven grandchildren: Stephanie Hinson of South Fulton, TN, Buster McKinney of Calvert City, Ky., Whittney McKinney of Fulton, Ky., Tyler McKinney of Fulton, Ky., Nathan McClanahan of Union City, Tenn., Brandon McClanahan of Bonney Lake, Washington and Bradley McClanahan of Bonney Lake, Washington and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers: Tommie Gene McClanahan and Everett Lee McClanahan, two sisters: Wanda Mcatee and Relma Lunsford.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2022 in Fulton's Hornbeak Funeral Home funeral

chapel with burial to follow in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Monday until the hour of service.
