Fulton County results from Primary listed

In the May 17 Primary in Fulton County, a number of contested races secured the names to appear on the General Election ballot in November.

All princincts voted for the Republican Party Primary, 1st Congressional District United States Senator, and candidates were Arnold Blankenship, Valerie “Dr. Val” Fredrick, Paul V. Hamilton, Rand Paul, John Schiess and Tami L. Stainfield.

The winner in Fulton County was Rand Paul with 204. Blankenship had 7 in Fulton County, Fredrick, 5, Hamilton, 3, Schiess, 1 and Stainfield, 4. As of just after 8 p.m. May 17, with 86.8% of votes, totaling 242,960, Rand Paul will claim the Republican party’s nomination for the General Election.

For State Representative, 1st Representative District, the opponents were Christopher M. Tucker and Steven Jack Rudy, with results listing Rudy with 138 to Tucker’s 87. With 62.9%, Rudy received a total of 2172 votes to Tucker’s 1394.

Precincts including the courthouse, Stateline and B-W-M Watson’s voted in the Constable, 4th Magisterial District race, which included Jay Black and Christopher Edmaiston.

Black was the winning candidate with 20 votes to Edmaiston’s 18.

In the Democratic Party Primary Election, 1st Congressional District United States Senator’s Race, on the ballot were Joshua Wesley Blanton, Sr., Charles Booker, Ruth Gao and John Merrill. Booker took the Democratic Party nomination with 136,348 votes total as of just after 8 p.m., 71.6%.

The winner in Fulton County was Booker with 291. Blanton had 116 votes in Fulton County, Gao, 37 and Merrill, 82.

For Fulton County Sheriff, it was Chad Allen Parker against incumbent Derek Goodson, with Parker taking the win with 388 votes to Goodson’s 268.

In the Coroner’s race, Timothy Darren Hulin ran against Martha A. Newton, and Hulin won with 332 to Newton’s 296.

All precincts voted in those races.

Precincts at Fulton City Hall, the Woman’s Club and Police Station voted for the Magistrate, 1st Magisterial District, with candidates Jim Paitsel, the incumbent and Billy “Bubba” Nelms. Paitsel won with 70 votes to Nelms’ 49.

For Magistrate, 3rd Magisterial District, candidates were Betty Abernathy and Matt Moss, with voters in precincts at the R.E.C.C. and Senior Citizens building voting in Hickman in that race. Moss received the higher number of votes with 106 to Abernathy’s 61.
