Homemakers Week observed
Fulton County Judge/Executive Jim Martin recently signed a proclamation declaring Oct. 14 - 20 as Kentucky Extension Homemakers Week and urged all citizens to participate in Extension Homemakers activities in their communities.
The Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association, Inc., has more than 14,400 members in more than 800 clubs throughout the Commonwealth and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for families and communities through leadership development, volunteer service and education.
Kentucky Homemakers has worked to achieve their mission for 85 years, providing service in communities across Kentucky and continues to endeavor to strengthen, develop, coordinate and extend adult education in Family and Consumer Sciences in cooperation with the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Services.
The Fulton County Extension Office is located at 2114 South Seventh St. in Hickman.
“As homemakers of the United States, we will strive to promote a better way of life for all through fellowship, continuing education and service; to provide guidance in our homes and communities for the uniting of people to make the world a better place in which to live. May we have pride in our role as homemakers and may our hearts be filled with joy as we serve. Let us always be conscious of the needs of others and be strengthened by the divine light which guides us all,” is the Homemakers Motto.
