FCTA BOARD ACCEPTS DIRECTOR'S RESIGNATION; INTERIM NAMED
During a special called meeting of the Fulton County Board of Directors today, Wed., Aug. 24, the Fulton County Transit Authority board accepted Paul Maxwell’s resignation as FCTA’s Executive Director. Board members present included Jessie Webb, Lew Jetton, Kevin Kelley and Mike Gunn. Emily Kirby was present via Zoom videoconferencing.
The board entered into closed executive session, and returned into open session reporting the acceptance of Executive Director Paul Maxwell's resignation; approval of a resolution appointing as Interim Director, Kenney Etherton to serve in the Director's capacity because of previous experience with the agency; and approved the removal of Maxwell from the FCTA bank accounts.
According to a report provided as to actions from the meeting, FCTA Board member Kevin Kelley will be assisting as well, with day to day operations, with most operational duties to be assigned to Rachel Cook, Operations Manager and Kristin Bond, Safety and Human Resources.
Board member Mike Gunn stated Etherton will be assigned the duty of executing required paperwork from the federal and state level for the Transit, as needed.
“My goal while in this capacity is to teach and coach existing staff on Transit matters,” Etherton said following the meeting.
Board members Barbara McIntee and Carol Parker were absent.
