Kentucky State Police Charge Juvenile for School Threat

Clinton, Ky. (September 6, 2022) – Troopers with the Kentucky State Police charged a Hickman County juvenile after investigating a threat of school violence. On Tuesday morning, administrators with the Hickman County School district were made aware of social media post authored by a juvenile student. The social media post included disturbing statements directed to the school and school staff. An image of a firearm was attached to the post which heightened the concerns of staff.

As a result of the investigation, State Police charged the male juvenile with (1) count of Terroristic Threatening, 1st degree. The juvenile was released to a guardian after consultation with the Hickman County Court Designated Worker.

Kentucky State Police investigate all reported threats of school violence regardless of context or intent. Troopers ask that families talk with their children regarding the dangers of posting threatening messages on-line.
