Multiple area churches join together for meal funding
A number of area churches will work together this year to provide a full Thanksgiving meal to those in the Twin Cities and neighboring communities.
The free meal will be held in the fellowship hall of Fulton’s First United Methodist Church at 200 Carr St. Those planning to attend the meal, ready from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. may enter through the Second Street entrance.
Turkey, homemade dressing, giblet gravy, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, rolls, dessert, water, tea and coffee will be served.
To date, churches who have offered and provided assistance with the community meal include First Baptist Church, First Christian Church, Church of the Nazarene, Trinity Episcopal Church, First United Methodist Church, all of Fulton and Brooks Chapel Ministries of South Fulton.
Those who are shut-ins or who are medically unable to come to the meal location may arrange for a meal to be delivered by volunteers by contacting Shannon Raines at the FUMC office before the date of the meal. Transportation to the meal location may also be secured by calling the church office at 270-472-3514.
Any churches or individuals interested in offering assistance may contact the First United Methodist Church office or visit the church office to make a contribution toward the purchase of turkeys.
