SANTA CLAUS, COOKIES AND COCOA -- Fulton Independent's Carr Elementary families enjoyed a cozy evening recently, when Family Reading Night featured a visit with Santa as well as cookies and cocoa, while students and family members enjoyed reading together in the Carr library. The Family Connection, FIS FRYSC Director Tracy Pulley coordinated the event, with Stephanie Veatch, Kent Green, and parent volunteer providing assistance. Kids shared gift requests with Santa Claus, and families went home with free Scholastic books. The Family Connection FRYSC hosts all Fulton Independent family reading nights for the 2022-23 school year, funded through the Title One family engagement "program. ON TARGET -- Fulton Independent Schools' Superintendent, Dr. DeAnna Miller has initiated the instruction on a new sport for the district, Archery. Dr. Miller has trained to provide instruction for the new program, which seems to "hit the Bullseye” with students.
